    • Orion 13% Neutral Density Moon Filters reduce the bright glare of the Moon so you can see more lunar detail and surface features with any telescope eyepiece
    • 1.25" Moon filters thread directly into the barrel of a 1.25" telescope eyepiece, while 2" filters thread into 2" eyepiece barrels
    • Neutral Density filters are especially useful for use with large aperture telescopes through which views of the bright surface of the Moon can be overwhelming
    • 13% eyepiece Moon filters transmit just 13 percent of the incoming light to your eye, enhancing contrast of lunar features
    • Neutral filter will not alter the natural color of the Moon in your views through any telescope

    The Moon's disk, even at partial phases, is intensely bright with reflected sunlight. The glare is so extreme it washes out most of the craters, rilles, and other surface details from view.

    Orion 13% Transmission Moon Filters reduce this disruptive glare, allowing just 13% of the reflected light to pass. Not only will you see more surface features, but you can study them in greater comfort. The Moon Filter reduces irradiation, which is the distortion at the boundary between light and dark areas, such as along the path of the lunar terminator.

    The 13% Transmission Orion Moon Filters are especially useful to owners of large-aperture telescopes, in which the Moon's brightness can be overwhelming. The eyepiece filters uniformly reduce light over the entire visible spectrum. Try one!
