Please Note

Orion has made the difficult decision to close our warehouse facility in the Netherlands. With the continuing supply chain/logistics challenges and slowness in the economy we have found that it is not economically feasible to maintain operations in the UK and Europe.

We have therefore stopped taking orders on this website. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We will continue to have Orion dealers in Europe to meet the needs of Orion consumers. We will also continue to honor the 30-Day product return period as well as honoring the Orion warranty for purchases made in the UK and Europe.

Our US-based Customer Service Representatives are here to help. Contact them via email at support@telescope.com or in the United Kingdom, via phone at 0-800-041-8146 (Monday-Friday between the hours of 1300 and 2400 GMT).

The Moon 5-27-13

The Moon 5-27-13 at Orion Store
My experience started when I was 4, and pointed a toy telescope at the moon--and, wanting to take a picture of it, I put my Mom's brownie camera on the back of the telescope, and using the focusing lens, focused the telescope, then put the taking lens on the telescope and took pictures---and they came out!! Every since then, I've enjoyed astrophotography, photomicrography, and simply taking pictures.....I was a Combat Photographer during the Viet Nam War, and still take pictures to this day. I don't have a favorite viewing location (yet), nor do I have one object which is my favorite....however, my Orion equipment is the 127,,. a 6" Cass, 8" Cass, 8"RFT, and of course, the 8" Reflector. The mount I use is an older Sirius EQ-G, and I have various filters, eyepices and other things to help me with my viewing and my photography.

Date Taken: 08/28/2014
Photographer: Phillip R.
Location: Sacramento, CA
Camera: Orion Apex 127mm Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope
Other Camera: Nikon D5000
Processing: Lightroom 4
Exposure: 1/500 sec
Notes: THIS WAS HANDHELD---I put the telescope on a tripod, but part of the tripod broke off and was not able to handle the telescope's weight---so, with my camera connected via a T-ring adaptor, and using my arms and knees as a brace, I sat down, pointed the telescope in the direction of the moon, focused, and the result of that is what you see here---it took only 6 frames for me to get it centered and right!! The telescope is a bit heavy, but if you are careful and brace yourself, it makes a WONDERFUL long telephoto lens to work with!!
